SARS - So much for my squatting!
Mentally prepared, all psyched up I'm in the right frame of mind to go and "roll" (fight) somebody at the SARS office. Forty minutes of driving later and we finally find their offices in the center of Cape Town - but there is a problem! At 10H00 in the morning, we find that there is a queue right around the block - there must have been 500 people standing in a queue outside the building and all along the sidewalk - waiting to get inside. Sue climbs out of the car and asks the security guards whether everybody must stand in the queue or whether it is for a specific reason - perhaps other than our own. She was told that the last half of the queue would not even get inside the building that day and will have to come back the next day. Damn!!! I will not even be able to get into the building. So much for my plan to squat until my problem is sorted!
So we then decide to go to another SARS office in Belville - another 40 minutes driving to get there. Here we once again got blocked at the entrance by a security guard. "No, you can't go inside today! They are all having a union meeting. You will have to come back tomorrow." This is at 11H00 the morning and union meetings are more important than serving the public!? WTF????
At the one office, you have to stand in queues for days to get served. Some people arrived at the SARS offices at 06H00 in the morning to make sure that they are at the front of the queue. The rest have to stand outside the building for the whole day and then perhaps not even get sorted - so just come back again tomorrow and stand in the queue once again. At the other office, union matters take precedence over legitimate public matters - come back tomorrow.
What the hell is becoming of this country? How much further can South Africa and the infra structure degrade to? Is it really unrealistic to expect reasonable service when one have to visit these public institutions. Is it just us who have these unrealistic expectations or is this place really starting to fall apart? Then look around at all the other bullshit going on - power cuts (yet every street light in every city burns throughout every night), the high crime levels, the BEE shit causing economic genocide against the white population, and, and .... we can write books about all the shit happening all around us.
We are so GATVOL of this houtkop mentality, corruption, incompetence and all the shit that goes with it! We all know this to be true and happening right here under our noses for we are all experiencing the systematic collapse all around us - yet people do not speak out!? Everybody seems to be quite complacent about this, accepting and seems to be quite willingly being led to the slaughter house!
