Work done on the hard at YachtPort, Saldanha

Revelations is on the hard at YachtPort, Saldanha for some work to be done. The hulls were lightly sanded then cleaned with Acetone and all areas are tape up where we do not want to paint - so the anti fouling work is progressing nicely. We will start applying the first coats of antifouling paint as of tomorrow. In the interim, we also replaced the anodes on the Flexofold propellers and the freezer door is repaired and in place. Wetaher permitting, she should be ready to go back in the water by Monday.

The only sour grapes is that YachtPort is not happy with us doing the work ourselves. In fact, word is that they are quite pissed off that we did not use them to do the antifouling. We did ask them for a price to do the work but the amount they quoted is simply outrages. Although this must surely be one of the best places to take your boat out of the water anywhere in South Africa, their prices are bordering on madness. For this reason, sadly this might be the last time we use their services. I also just learned that they now intend charging us more for taking us out of the water than initial agreed - simply because we did the anti fouling work ourselves!? Sour grapes? Simply being nasty? This does not bode well for YachtPort in the long run!
